Review of Firefox 2.0

eWeek has this review of newly released Firefox 2.0. Bottom line: eWeek says the latest version of Firefox has "the greatest out-of-the-box usability of any Web browser that we have tested (and that's a lot of Web browsers)."

I've been using a program called Maxthon for several years now. I think it deserves serious attention from anyone looking to switch browsers. It was head-and-shoulders above IE and Firefox a year ago and the developers are working on a new version which will implement some new bells and whistles the average user may never need. At least take a look at the website. I use the mouse gestures and the super drag and drop all the time. A great time saver. I'm a trial lawyer with no interest in maxthon other than that it's a great product. www.maxthon.com

I learned to use the [x] box at the far right and find that I liked it once I got the hang of it.

2.0 doesn't seem to have a way to get that back, each tab has its own [x] -- but in my general habit of opening up windows and then closing them without opening the box (I get a lot of content that fits on a single page) has been nerfed by the change in 2.0.
