New York lawyer and writer Marisa DiMattia says her strict Greek father would not be happy with the site, but that does not keep her from sticking with Needled, a fascinating blog devoted to the fine art and culture of tattoos. Today’s post, for example, is about a collection of vintage circus sideshow photos and the tattooed ladies they feature.

Says DiMattia of the site:

“The site takes a look at the art of tattooers, on skin and on canvas. It also looks at the culture, politics, and law affecting tattoo art and is not afraid to use big words. Needled understands that body art aficionados cannot be put into neat boxes: they are lawyers with tattooed bodysuits under Armani suits, tech gurus with backpieces, soccer moms with sleeves, and artists who enjoy a good opera after a tattoo convention.”

As for herself, DiMattia is writing a book, Tattoo Law, and she writes the Legal Link column for BMEzine.com.
